SportScout

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 6, 2026 Provider: Gerald Akenten ("we", "us") Contact: ger.akenten@gmail.com

This policy explains what SportScout ("the App") collects, how we use it, the legal bases we rely on, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It is written to meet the stricter of the regimes that may apply to you — including the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and Canada's PIPEDA — so the protections described here are offered to all users regardless of location.

What we collect

We do not sell or "share" (as defined by the CCPA/CPRA) your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use it, and our legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)

Purpose Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR)
Provide and operate the App (scores, analysis, AI chat) Performance of a contract
Personalize content from your stated preferences Performance of a contract / consent
Enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse Legitimate interests
Diagnose and fix problems (logs, diagnostics) Legitimate interests
Maintain security and prevent fraud Legitimate interests / legal obligation

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object (see Your rights below).

Who we share it with (subprocessors)

We do not otherwise disclose your personal information except where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

International transfers

We are based in Canada, and our subprocessors (Anthropic, Supabase, Fly.io) process data primarily in the United States. Your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, such transfers from the EU/EEA or UK are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Data retention

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. We honor these requests for all users:

To exercise any of these, contact ger.akenten@gmail.com (and, where available, use in-app account deletion). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use the App as a guest without an account.

EU/EEA & UK residents. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If we have appointed an EU/UK representative, their details will be listed here.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the rights to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of sale/sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so no opt-out is necessary. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit.

Canadian residents (PIPEDA). You may access and correct your personal information and may direct unresolved concerns to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access tokens are validated on every request, user data is isolated per account, and local data stores are access- restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

The App is not directed to children. It includes sports betting odds and analysis intended for adults; see the Terms for age guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA where applicable). Do not use the App if you are under the age required in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
